We didn't spend a lot of time at the Falls as we really wanted to get on the road. We had no preference on a route so we decided to follow the one prepared by AAA. The roads were not primary routes for most traffic and we found them very Model A friendly. The one thing that we did notice again was the constant wind that really made it noisy driving. For the most part we were driving in farm country. The farms seemed to be pretty successful in spite of the fact that their former cash crop - tobacco - is no longer a being produced in any significant quantity.
We did have reservations at the Hampton Inn and after we enjoyed the Cracker Barrel for dinner we packed it in for the night.
Tomorrow it's off to Ludington to get the ferry to Wisconsin.
Now this is more like it, less wrenching and more driving !
ReplyDeleteYou're doing a nice job with the blog , Doug.
Enjoy your ride across the big lake...
I looked at the ferry going to Wisconsin. It's one of those CAT ships as you know and goes 40 MPH! I hope you get a nice view of the big lake.
ReplyDeleteGuess you'll go through Saginaw, MI today. Don't forget Lefty Frizzel1 who topped the CW charts in 1964 with "Saginaw Michigan." Lefty, unfortunately, left us in 1975 after a massive stroke.
I love being able to read about your day over my morning coffee! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Falls look pretty and I like the rainbow!
I noticed something is missing...Dad where is your Boston to Vancouver banner???
XOXO
Awesome adventure! I will bookmark your trip so I can read along. How many miles are you guys able to average per day? What kind of speeds are generally traveling at?
